On 16 November 2012, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, a jubilee conference “40 years of World Heritage” was organised at the Budapest University of Communication and Business.
The Conference was supported by the Hungarian National Committee of UNESCO and organised by the Hungarian National Committee of ICOMOS, the Budapest University of Communication and Business and the Foundation for Information Society. The event was opened by the Rector of BKF Dr. László Vass, followed by the greeting message of the cultural Vice-President of UNESCO, Francesco Bandarin.
The invited speakers included the President of the Hungarian National Committee of UNESCO and ICOMOS, the “Gyula Forster” National Heritage Management and Service Centre, the Foundation for Information Society, the members of the Directorate of the Intangible Heritage in Hungary as well as the representatives of the 8 Hungarian World Heritage Sites, teachers of higher education and other highly estimated experts.
